Skeff. Playground - June 2006
From the Start.
The Playground at Green Corner, Skeffling, was pulled together out of thin air. Using only recycled materials donated by well wishers, or in the case of the poles, chains, swing seats and paint, these were bought new by using money raised from village recycling.
All in all, it cost NOWT !
Thanks again, to everyone who gave materials, lent machinery, or made donations of time and perspiration, you know who you are.
More to do, and all help welcome.
By the way it has received a big THUMBS UP !! from the Kids.

Skeffling Wind Turbine Foundation - Jan 07
Making a Start - 18th Jan 2007
This turned out to be a wet and very windy start.
Lets hope it was a good omen.
If we can do our bit maybe others will too.
"Every little Helps" as the Old Woman said as she peed in the Sea.
( Not very ECO Friendly though)

Skeff Turbine - Erection Special - Feb 07
A PROVEN 6 Wind Turbine on a 15M mast.
Installed on Feb 20 2007 by :EAGLE POWER
ONE YEAR ON.
The Turbine has performed very well over the past year. It hasn't broken any records but on the other hand it has fulfilled it's function and provided all the power required in the Village Hall and then some. The proceeds from the surplus has been invested for future maintenance and eventual replacement.
The SUNNY PORTAL now holds detailed output and weather graphs.

Information on installing drainage.
SIMPLE MATHEMATICS.

The outflow from 2 X 15 inch diameter pipes and 1 X 12 inch diameter pipe will not be adequately removed by 1 X 15 inch pipe, when flowing at capacity. It will however be quite adequate in dry weather.
IN THE STORM OF JUNE 2008

Exactly 62% of all rainwater that entered the drains in Skeffling could not get away due to defective primary mathematics and had no option but to fill the centre of the village and surrounding properties.
THE LAW IS AN ASS.

Utility Companies can not be held responsible for damage caused where badly maintained, defective, ineffective and/or incorrectly installed drainage is held to be an issue.
Reference: Marcic V Thames Water Utilities Ltd 2003. The House of Lords final ruling confirmed that the Utility Companies cannot be held responsible for incidents of this sort.
So, It is official. There is no need to waste money on real drainage experts as it don't matter anyhow.
Then again, I guess they already knew that.
